Call: Convocatoria de proyectos de I+D+i en líneas estratégicas, en colaboración público-privada 2021

Period of execution: November 2021 – October 2024

Total budget: 982.810,00 €

Coordinator: Institut Català d’Investigació Química (ICIQ)

Participants:

- Instituto de Tecnología Química (ITQ, UPV-CSIC)
-
Industrial Technology Center of Castilla-La Mancha (ITECAM)
- Depuración de aguas del Mediterráneo (DAM)

Description:

The PHOTORED project will directly contribute to achieving the EU's 2030 targets under the Next Generation and Green Deal plans. Throughout this project, the photocatalytic reduction of CO2 towards specific biofuels will be addressed in a targeted manner. The development of selective photocatalysts to produce specific chemicals and fuels will contribute to the substitution of chemical pathways currently applied in industry. The efficiency of the photocatalytic reaction together with an optimised synthesis will reduce the production cost of the catalysts and thus the cost of the fuels and chemicals. This process will also use green H2 from H2O electrolysis.

The objectives to be addressed during the project are as follows:

• Development of innovative membranes for CO2 sequestration. The capture of CO2 is not only relevant for its subsequent valorisation, but also to reduce its concentration in the atmosphere.
• Demonstration of H2 production from wastewater by photocatalysis with attractive production efficiencies.
• Construction of a pilot-scale photocatalytic reactor to validate the technology studied

Financing by:  The ENHIGMA project (RTC-2016-5189-3) has been funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities through the call for proposals Retos-Colaboración 2016.

Call: Call for Public Grants of the State Programme for Research, Development and Innovation Oriented to the Challenges of Society 2016.

Period of execution: 2016 - 2021

Total budget: 577.239,00 €

Coordinator: Adix Ingeniería

Participants:

- Centro Nacional del Hidrógeno (CNH2)
- Hidrógena Desarrollos Energéticos
- FLUBETECH
- Asociación de la Industria Navarra (AIN)
- Industrial Technology Center of Castilla-La Mancha (ITECAM)

Description:

The main objective of the project is the development and optimisation of hydrogen production equipment by means of water electrolysis, based on PEM technology, as well as the assembly of a small-scale electrolysis stack. The ENHIGMA project focuses on improving the materials and coatings of the bipolar plates, as well as the design and machining of their flow distribution channels. To carry out this task, it uses tools such as finite element simulation (FEM), capable of predicting the mechanical behaviour of the cell, serving as a support element in the design of the materials.

This project is of great importance since bipolar plates are currently one of the main components of a PEM electrolysis cell, representing 50% of the costs of a stack.

The planned training programme, which is completely free of charge and aimed at unemployed people, will make it possible to take advantage of the job opportunities that arise in this context by improving employability rates, while supporting the digital and green transformation of the region's industries.

Financing by:  The MU-COAST project has been funded by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge through Fundación Biodiversidad and co-financed by the European Social Fund. (CPP2021-008718)

Call: Call for applications for public-private partnership projects 2021.

Period of execution: Octubre de 2022 – Septiembre 2025

Total budget: 1.065.881,85 €

Coordinator: Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV)

Participants:

- Laboratorio Andaluz de Ensayos de Construcción (LAENSA)
-Industrial Technology Center of Castilla-La Mancha (ITECAM)

Description:

The MU-COAST project presents a new concept of urban furniture based on the development of a self-compacting concrete dosage that allows high mechanical strength to be achieved without the need for reinforcement, equivalent to ultra-high strength concrete, but at a lower economic and environmental cost, since it will use fibres from tyre recycling. In addition, another of the project's objectives is to provide these materials with a high resistance to chloride attack and a shiny, aesthetic surface finish, free of cracks, thanks to the use of additive manufacturing techniques.

From refinery all installations linked to the precise operations are followed by a preventive maintenance due to the aggressive environment in which conduction (marine means) stays can produce damages in lines and elements of transference that can provoke spills which are visually perceptible if characteristics of products, operative conditions and caudal escapes allow it.

The control of those spills passes inexorably through its prevention, not only through an appropriated maintenance of involved installations but also through the elements that allow detect immediately spills in order to act efficiently in their containment and reparation.

Together with CEPSA and MAGTEL OPERATIONS, Itecam participates in NETCON project for the development of fibre optic devices susceptible to be connected as an extensive network able to respond with faster alerts, discriminative in products or types of products and the specific location of the spilled zone.

Furthermore this project carries on a proper development of a communicative optic network able to connect and manage an ensemble of multisensorial transductors that operate with different kinds of technology. Intelligence in network should supply different levels of alerts in relation to the detection of transductors and to the response facing diverse products and types of products.

The essential part of Itecam shares in NETCON are based on the design of the protective structure of encapsulates that will assist to a certain grade of permeability, not inertia following marine waves and levels. It is also based on the structural resources enough to prevent potential impacts. This structure will be fixed to vertical cloths of trousers situated in a sufficient level to cover all dynamic range foreseeable. The design of this protective structure is leaded by CEPSA in cooperation with Technical College in Madrid, UCA and ITECAM.
